Tonia's Story....
Her career was just beginning, but in a few seconds her life and the lives of those around her changed forever. The car accident left Tonia with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). After four weeks in a coma followed by months of rehabilitation, Tonia was ready to come home. During this time we devoted ourselves to learning all we could about caring for a TBI survivor. After months of exhausting every effort possible to have a home-life suitable for Tonia and our other two daughters, we had to accept that Tonia needed a special environment with special training. Realizing that our home could not provide this for Tonia, we began to search for a place that could. After four different homes in 18 months, our frustration was turning into worry for our daughter's future. That's when the idea of providing a home for Tonia and other TBI survivors came to the surface. ReNu Life is a home that provides love, patience, and guidance for TBI Survivors through a daily, structured, and practical approach to rehabilitation. - Pat Bevell, Co-Founder |
